Woo hoo - we are almost potty trained! Please don't take this as a brag session - he's a month away from 3, so it's high time.
I'd say we're about 90% there. He's wearing only underwear during the day with no accidents. Sometimes we may throw a Pull-Up on him if we're out and about, like at Fred's graduation last Friday. He keeps it dry anyway - it's been over a week since he's had a daytime accident, Pull-Up or not. He's started telling us when he needs to go instead of us having to be diligent about bringing him to the bathroom.
He'd gone about 4 nights in a row without peeing in his Pull-Up, but the last 2 nights he hasn't stayed dry (might have something to do with the fact that he tends to crave about a gallon of water or milk right before bed).
The final piece of the puzzle is pooping, and he finally did that last night with my mom and then tonight at our house. I think this part may take a little more time, but we're making some forward progress.
I guess I was pleasantly surprised by how easily and suddenly it has fallen into place. I think it has to do with his age - at some point, it just sort of clicks for them.
Thank you, daycare! I can't take a whole lot of credit - they've done the bulk of the hard work. Needless to say, I am pretty optimistic and relieved. I thought I was going to have a kindergartner in diapers for awhile there!
Meanwhile, can someone PLEASE refresh my memory as to when the spit-up stops? I am so OVER getting slimed after each bottle. I get flashbacks of You Can't Do That On Television.
I am amused by the fact that she got her two bottom teeth at 3.5 months and is showing absolutely no sign of growing any more any time soon. They're so tall, and so lonely. Liam got his first two at 4.5 months, and then they continued coming in slow and steady after that. The good news is that she doesn't soak about 10 bibs a day in slobber like he did.
I am ready for someone to find a cure for asthma. It's like, "helllloooo??...Is anyone out there??...." It seems like there's heavy research trying to find a cure for everything else out there, which is awesome, but I just wish they'd add asthma to the list. The moment the temps dip below 50, it's all over for me for the rest of the year.
Oh well - hopefully sometime in my lifetime!
