We just had Liam's pictures taken today at Portrait Innovations. They did a wonderful job. I really love them all. Here's a sample.
Liam's become so, so much easier (okay, with the little blip of our beach vacation). All of a sudden, when he learned to roll over onto his tummy (and will not stay on his back to sleep - we just go ahead and cut to the chase and put him on his tummy), and we found pacis that he can hold in his mouth, we no longer have to stand there and comfort him to sleep. We can just leave him, and he can put himself to sleep. I was worried about how badly we'd spoiled him...it just kind of all fell into place.
At the beach he stopped accepting his paci, and the whole world kind of crumbled down because we'd have to take him out onto the back porch (in the middle of the night as well) and rock him to sleep. We were really afraid that that was it, but he is back in the game now that we are gone.
One day, when he was about 5 1/2 months old, I was holding him sitting up. I said "let me try and see what happens if I let go." He'd fall over, but he'd stay up for a second or two. We would try for a few minutes every day, and eventually we realized that he could sit up all by himself. He can't get there on his own yet - we have to sit him up, but then he can stay. I swear, as soon as 5 months hit, it's like the development just took off full speed ahead.
Now try sitting there eating fast food with him...We were eating Arby's yesterday, and every time something went in front of him, he was grabbing at it. It's definitely a challenge these days, but much fun.
I had all these things to blog about, but they've escaped me. I haven't blogged in forever, so thought I should. Hopefully I can do a better job, but we'll see!

The pictures are too cute.
Each month gets easier and easier until they are mobile!
