My pretty little baby is 1! What a handful she is. I love her so much, and I just can't wait to see what the future holds because we are SO in for it.
She's absolutely zonked right now because she got a cocktail of shots today. 4 of them, plus a toe prick. Poor baby. Here are the stats:
Macy at 1:
Height: 30.5 in. (88th %ile)
Weight: 24.6 lbs. (92nd %ile)
HC: 18.6 in. (95th %ile)
Liam at 1:
Height: 31.5 in. (91st %ile)
Weight: 24 lbs. (67th %ile)
HC: 19 1/4 in. (96th %ile)
Macy is inching down in the percentiles, slowly but surely. That is good. I have said it before - I was the tall girl until middle school, and I always felt awkward. Even though I may not feel awkward in the height department anymore, it's tough to convince yourself that you're not awkward once it's been ingrained in you.
I remember one time in elementary school I wanted to know what it was like to be fair-skinned. In the evening when I was just hanging out before bed, I put baby powder all over my face. Obviously it didn't accomplish what I intended for it to accomplish, so I just resigned to the fact that I would never look creamy. I embrace the olive now.
I still sit there in awe, though, every day that I gave birth to a little girl with the hair, complexion and eyes that I always wanted. It makes perfect sense when you see Andy, but genetics are a little strange. It's weird when those darker features just completely pass over a kid. I love my little blue-eyed girl!
I think it is time to go catch up on the Dr. Phil Family on DVR. It makes me appreciate being part of a functional family!
