Quickie

I have reached the following conclusion:

God gave us Liam so we'd have another child. God gave us Macy so we'd stop.

Oh we love her so much, but we, with the utmost affection, have nicknamed her Birth Control.

She's so sweet - she really is. But she redefines "high maintenance." She is not happy unless you are holding her hands and standing her up. Then she looks around and squeals with delight. With the exception of our outing to the Forum in the snow on Sunday (I was pleasantly surprised by her 3-hour stint in the bucket without complaint), I basically spent the entire day sitting there holding her up on her feet. I actually had a lot of fun. Andy and I spent the night in Athens away from the kids, so I was happy to come home and take in every moment.

I cannot WAIT until she is mobile because surely she'll be more content - right??

Like I said, we were in Athens Saturday night. It was for Freddie's senior banquet. Afterward, everyone (the guys, moms, siblings, significant others) were going downtown. It's funny because when it was just Liam and I was away for one reason or another, I always took advantage of the opportunity to go to bed early and get up late. I never wanted to interfere with that by actually having fun. Now that Macy has come along, I seem to jump at the opportunity. One, I'm not getting any younger. Two, whether I get 10 hours or 2 on Saturday night, after being kept up on Sunday night, I'll still feel exactly the same on Monday. We had a great time. I'm glad we went.

We sent Liam to school Friday and today sans Pull-Up. Big day! Friday he stayed dry up until 5pm, and today he had his accident in the morning and was dry the rest of the day.

It seems like it's all just sort of happening. He's pretty much leading the way, while we gently push him just a little bit beyond what he really wants to do (he could stay in his overnight Pull Up until noon if you let him - he's just not bothered by wetness). Having let go and let it sort of take its own course has made it pretty stress-free. However, I was thinking today that a waterproof car seat pad would be a justifiable expense.

Not much to say tonight. Just thought I'd pop in for a quickie. Time for bed!
