I have a box of Liam's diapers sitting out in the garage. I am hoping against all hopes that we don't have to open it. I *think* that we have made the full conversion to Pull-Ups, so long as we don't have to go back at some point.
Ideally, Pull-Ups are supposed to stay dry and be there for accidents only. They are certainly not meant to be used in lieu of diapers, as they're a bit cost-prohibitive. Liam's definitely needing to be in Pull-Ups over diapers, as he stays dry most of the day and goes potty often, but we still go through several.
I have to wonder if the advent of Pull-Ups helped or harmed the whole potty-training process. I would imagine that, in the old days, you just had to decide one day "this is it. We're potty-training, and we're committed." Now, you stick a Pull-Up on your kid and you have a full license to half-ass the process.
Either way, I will always take advantage of the opportunity to half-ass something when I can.
My message to all you moms out there who have champion sleepers (and forgive me if I end up duplicating this in a Facebook status): I once was you.
We are well-acquainted with 5am. This has something to do with the time change. I learned long ago that a later bedtime does not equate to a later wake time. Wake time is constant. They've adjusted to bedtime on the front end where they are going to bed at what's essentially an hour later, but they're still waking up as if it is EDT.
Macy is on her way to becoming a champion sleeper, though, FINALLY. We just have a few kinks to work out, like that whole thing where she can't yet put her own paci back in her mouth. And that one where she thinks that 5am is a great time to be happy. Now that she's rolling over, we can't keep her on her back, and she has learned how comfy tummy-sleeping is. The past few nights, after waking up from the transfer to the crib, she's put herself to sleep. We've had to get up a few times a night to put the paci back in her mouth, but she'll go back to sleep without us having to feed and change her. It's wonderful, but 5am is the trade-off.
If only she could be as happy at 6pm as she is at 5am, life would be amazing.
