What kind of idiot am I, turning down the narcotics till now?? They just put some Fentenol into the IV, and I immediately felt like I was back in college, lying on the futon watching the ceiling spin. Woo hoo. I think it is beginning to wear off, though :( That's ok, I can have it again in about an hour.
So, there's no turning back now. They just broke the water (which is what prompted me to accept the Fentenol), so one way or another he has to come out now.
It is a little bit after 8 am, and my midwife Lisa said we should expect about a centimeter per hour and then 2 hours of pushing...so perhaps he will be here in the afternoon. I'll get the epidural soon enough (although I am kind of hesitant to give up my narcotics!).
I'll keep ya posted. Consider this one like a drunk post.
PS - sorry Christian - no Christian Jolly Garland. That was my second choice, though.

2nd place is the 1st loser. I have dishonored my family.
It's the thought that counts though.
Your baby, should it come out with a laptop in hand, blogging about his experiences in the birth canal...well, that wouldn't surprise me one bit.
What we REALLY want is to have an Abby blog at the height of your medication. A drunken mind speaks the heart :)
Hey!
Timmy D's (my husband) birthday is today the 4th, and my nephew's is the 5th. So both are good dates. I remember being in the hospital with my sister when she had my nephew...
Can't wait to see pics!!
best,
Stephanie Donlan
