I had to swallow my pride and go out and buy my first pair of maternity pants.

When we were on vacation, I woke up a few days during the week and (considering the morning belly is usually significantly smaller than the evening belly) thought "hmm, I hardly look pregnant today." One day I even wore my regular two-piece (then I saw the pictures later and realized, mmm, maybe it wasn't as small as I thought, so we won't do that again...). Then something happened over the weekend, and my tummy must have grown about 5 inches. I can no longer button my last pair of work pants that fit without smushing my baby.

So, yesterday I said "I have to have a pair of maternity pants BY TOMORROW." Off to Target I went, and I am now the proud owner of some sexy-as-hell black maternity pants that have a nice satiny kind of material that goes all the way up over your belly and then has like a thin elasticy band that sits up above the belly. I mean, they are pretty darn comfortable. Very easy to work, too, since they don't have buttons or zippers. I went to pee once and thought it was so easy I almost forgot that I had to pull my panties down, too.

Apparently my mother has bought me a pair of maternity jeans. I thought I was good to go on those for awhile, and I am wearing my regular jeans as I type this, but apparently they are on the way out, too. Not so comfy.

At work I hadn't gotten a whole lot of special treatment or anything before going on vacation. Apparently I come back from being gone a week, and my new size has prompted the men to begin offering me the front seat on the way to lunch and the choice of where to eat, which they never did before.

My unequivocal response was "Mellow Mushroom," for my 3rd mushroom-and-pineapple calzone in one week. I don't think mushrooms and pineapple are too weird of a combination. I would totally eat that not-pregnant. I'm not big on ham right now, so mushrooms are a good protein-ous substitute. Those calzones are huge, and I really could have eaten more after I was done...I don't get a whole lot of other food in other than the 3 meals and the pretzel sticks I eat all morning.

I have finally, finally, finally settled on a bedding set. I think the people at Baby's Room are like "why on earth does she come in here every other day and never buy anything?" Well, I've forked over a fortune to them for nursery room furniture...and now I am prepared to give them more - I love that store, though, so I would buy it from there first. The design is Down Under by CoCaLo/Baby Martex, which is easy enough to Google if you want to see. The best part is that they have a glider chair to match, with light yellow cushions and wood the color of our crib set. My parents' gift to my sister-in-law and now to me was for us to choose gliders, so it will look perfect. I am psyched - tomorrow I am going to stop by after work and place the order for the bedding.

We looked at Georgia Babies and Kids, and their bedding was from $350-$1200 for a 4-piece set (bumper, blanket, dust ruffle and fitted sheet), and then you have to add on other stuff to make it look more complete. Crazy. Just wait till the day a diaper explodes on your $1200 sheets.

The baby has been rolling around a lot lately. Especially at night, I will lie on my back in the dark and he'll come out to play. It's weird - it's like all these unknown body parts rolling against my stomach in succession. Andy and I will both spend time every day "playing" with the baby, feeling him roll, and talking to him. Andy is going to make him a CD...I guess that means I have to listen to it, too. It's fun - I am glad I can feel him. Let's me know he's still alive and well in there!
