I have abandoned the blog for a bit because we spent a week at the beach with our friends who are also having a baby due early March. It was a great week. I will say, though, that it is tough to be pregnant at the beach.

All you want to do is drink some beer during the day and then some fruity tropical drinks or martinis with dinner. Raw oysters and other kinds of seafoods are out. Sometimes I wanted to jump in the water but was a bit afraid to do that. Medium-rare filet mignon...So O'Douls and medium-well it was.

The little guy is starting to get kind of heavy and uncomfortable. Some positions make it hard to really breathe all the way in. I'm also waking up with sore ribs and a sore back. I don't really know what's changed about my sleeping position.

I also popped out a bit in the last week while we were at the beach. People are no longer hesitating to ask me when the baby's due or if it's a boy or a girl...It was kind of fun up until now. I would see people look at my belly with this curiosity that they are trying oh-so-hard to conceal. It's hard to just bring up out of the blue, so I don't necessarily say anything unless it seems appropriate. No need anymore.

We got the baby's furniture. I just need to settle on some bedding now, but I am having a hard time. We set the crib and hutch up last night after getting back from the beach and while we were doing laundry, so today I get to take it easy. I love the crib...it's a little empty. It needs its bedding and its baby ;)
