The Verdict

2 months! Really? It's so hard to believe.

It's funny how it NEVER seems like pregnancy will ever end. Then, suddenly, you can't imagine being pregnant, and you can't remember what life was ever like without your baby (I mean, seriously, what's it like to only have one kid?? Did I REALLY ever think it was that difficult?).

I've been enjoying comparing the two kids to each other. It's interesting to see how differently they are growing up (and out).

Here are the results of their 2-month check-ups:

Liam:
Height - 24 1/4 in. (84th %ile)
Weight - 12.8 lbs. (70th %ile)
HC - 16 1/2 cm. (88th %ile)

Macy:
Height - 23 3/4 in. (80th %ile)
Weight - 10.9 lbs. (46th %ile)
HC - Eh, I can't remember. Her paperwork is downstairs, and I don't feel like getting it...I think it was like 82nd percentile or something like that.

I am actually very surprised by her proportions in comparison to Liam's. I have always thought that he was very long and lean, and she maybe a little shorter but much chubbier. I really would have thought that her height and weight percentiles would have been much closer together, or that her weight would have been in a higher percentile than her height. I also would not have been surprised if she'd weighed more than him.

Here's Liam at 2 months:

And here is Macy in all her chunky glory:

I am not complaining...if she's below average in weight all her life (especially if she is above average in height), then she's in good shape. I wish I was in the 46th percentile in my weight!!

Speaking of comparing my children...Liam blew out of a total of one diaper throughout his entire infancy. He was wearing Huggies that day, which I guess wasn't as compatible with his frame as Pampers were. Macy, on the other hand, is routinely blowing out of hers, usually up and out the front. It's glorious. I actually have to take a moment to develop a strategy. This does not bode well for my sweet little girl!

Luckily, unlike Liam, she is able to hold a paci in her own mouth and put herself to sleep when I lie her down (unless she loses control of her limbs and they start going hog wild - oh I can't wait till limb control sets in). I guess it's a skill that a second child acquires as a matter of survival.

Now I can only hope that Liam wins the drooling match:

For the record, yes, having one kid IS difficult!
