I'm in a random-thoughts kind of mood, but I also am not real sure how many thoughts I actually have. Or how many I have had in the past. I apologize if I am repeating material from earlier blogs, but I do lose track of what I have previously intended to say and what I have actually said.
-There is a fine line between "nothing would make me happier than to help you take care of your child right now" and "good thing I am around because you are completely incompetent as a parent."
-We all have our guilty pleasures. Mine...Nike shorts. Specifically, Nike shorts, a sports bra, and a ribbed tank top (ideally, a ribbed tank top to match the color of the piping on the shorts). I just got myself a new pair for the beach, and I am kicking myself for not getting 2. I have 4 pairs now, and I am in need of at least one more. I figure that it is 150% justifiable, as my Soffe shorts are still alive and kicking after 13 years. If my Nike shorts replace them till I'm over the hill, then there's absolutely no shame. Guess what I am wearing right now?
-It's always so nice to go to the beach, bit it is SO nice to be home sweet home. Blissfully nice, whether "home sweet home" is your dream home or the one that you never intended to love as much as you do.
-Just because cynical me always MUST throw in a negative: You're so happy to get to a place where you can walk around with sand-free, clean feet, yet somehow in reality the beach ends up right there with you on your kitchen floor.
-I still can't put socks on my child at bedtime. This is where the "I don't know if I have blogged about this before" comes in. I have a friend whose puppy swallowed a pair of socks and died, so I have this completely irrational fear that Liam will eat his socks if I leave him alone with them through the night.
-I am Blogspot-stupid. I don't know how to add titles to my individual blogs. I also don't know how to publish the list of blogs I follow for public view.
-I renege on my opinion that Luvs are better than Target brand diapers. After a little more use and comparison, I think Target brand (with the polka dots) is the closest to Cruisers you can get. Liam used one from Montgomery to home, and it held up remarkably well. I am still looking forward to a new box of Cruisers just because the pad doesn't bunch up, but Target is definitely a viable option.
-I realized that I have been a complete fraud all these years. The glamorous idea of lying around on the beach all day for a week at a time has invaded my thoughts for so long, only to come to find out that I just really, REALLY hate sand. I had to sit down in it so Liam could play for a bit the other day, and I was miserable. I am a crotchety old woman who hates sand. I imagine that.
-I am also a crotchety old woman who realizes that 11:30 is about bedtime!!
