Unsolicited advice: When they say wean yourself from the ibuprophen, do it. They give you strong Motrin in the hospital, and then I was told to take 4 ibuprophen every 4 hours, then go down to 3, then eventually to 2, etc. I think that once I got down to 3, I became kind of uncommitted to the whole weaning process. That probably caused my fever last week. Of course, once the fever was gone I stopped taking the ibuprophen again at regular intervals, and I got another fever today.
I woke up this morning in my normal sleeping attire of sweatpants and sports bra, and I was so cold I just kept trying to nuzzle up to the covers until I got warm, which wouldn't happen...getting out of bed to get more clothes, though, was not an option. I thought that I was dreaming it all, but later on when I tried to get up I realized it definitely wasn't a dream.
Liam has been giving us some good nights and then some not-so-good nights. Much better than the first week, though. It seems like every day gets a little easier than the last (fever notwithstanding). It definitely can be overwhelming sometimes.
My favorite thing is when he is awake and alert. He'll just run the gamut of faces. It's so cute. Those moments remind me of the joy he brings amidst the hard work.
Today he peed all over the wall when his dad was changing him. I was upstairs and I heard this massive ruckus when he apparently sprayed the entire wall and himself. It's fun watching Andy troubleshoot. His cord stump also fell off in this same episode.
Anyways, not a whole lot more to report at this point. I'm just enjoying my time off to be with my little Liam...
