No baby yet. We are less than a week away from the due date, and for some reason I just don't feel like it's EVER going to happen.

I have definitely not nested at home...but then again, everything's been ready for the baby. Sure, the house could be cleaner, but we've had everything set up for awhile. My mom did come over last night and we cleaned the kitchen real well, but that was more of an "induced" nesting episode because I wouldn't have done it on my own.

Now at work, that's another story. Over the last couple weeks I have been on a crusade to tidy up my office. I inherited all kinds of loose papers and junk from the people in there before me, newsletters dating back to 1996. I have been chucking everything I don't need. There are also two shelves of these records in accordion files, so I arranged everything in right-tab manila folders, neatly labeled, and put everything in brand-new accordion files so they all match. I just wonder if nesting at work counts...especially if a nesting period is required before giving birth.

There's an OB-GYN on the 7th floor of my building. Would have been convenient, but I was already established with my doctor's office. I get on the elevator this morning and this man is like "you must be going to the seventh floor." Ugggh. I cannot escape.

Just remember, when you are pregnant, you are pregnant and NOTHING else. That is all there is to you and all that anyone will talk about with you. Of course, it is all I can think about, so it would be nice if people would, just once, talk to me about something other than how much lower I look today than I did yesterday.

Today I had an eggplant dish. I am thinking about going to the store and getting a whole eggplant to munch on. I wonder if cooking eggplant cooks out the pitocin.

My belly has been itching really badly, and lotion hasn't been doing much for it. Apparently the stretching skin tends to make it dry and itchy. I get dry, itchy skin during the winter anyway. Though come to think of it, while my thighs get miserably itchy every winter, they haven't this year. Pregnancy really changes everything. Some good things that used to happen don't happen, and some bad things that used to happen don't happen.

I'd love it if my hands and feet would quit sweating.

Anyways, hopefully next time there will be a baby to report. Doubt it! In the meantime, I am going to go enjoy doing nothing all weekend.
